UNCLE FREDDY'S GALLERY
2635B Highway Avenue Highland, IN 46322 Ph. 219.923.1909
ABOUT THE GALLERY
Founded in 2002, Uncle Freddy’s Gallery is the creation of Tom Torluemke and Linda Dorman. Named in honor of Torluemke’s deaf and mute Uncle Freddy who lived with Tom and his family. During Tom’s childhood, Tom and Uncle Freddy would spend many of their days together and in order to communicate, they would draw pictures to each other describing what each wanted to do that day. This form of visual communication is what Tom attributes to his lifelong passion and calling.
GALLERY MISSION
Uncle Freddy’s Gallery reveals cutting-edge contemporary art. We support the notion that the work of an artist is truly an invention, a creation of a universal language of form, composition, design and technique developed to communicate expressively to the senses of humanity.

ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES
This is something for our artists friends to participate in. It is a friendly competition with a Big Money Prize. Uncle Freddy's is partnering up with Primary Colors a non-profit group in Indianpolis to host the Chicago/Northwest Indiana painting day for Art VS Art a highly successful art competition and event that has been held in Indi for 4 years now. Our friends at Hammond Development Corporation are sponsoring this event by graciously providing a place to paint.
Visit the Art VS Art website to register to participate.
Art vs. Art is a truly unique art competition featuring side-by-side face-offs between same-day created paintings. The winner is determined by audience vote; the loser faces the “Wheel of Death” unless someone’s generous purchase can save the painting from a ruinous fate.
